Elterwater Waterfalls Walk Description
The Elterwater Waterfalls Walk is an amazing adventure that can be enjoyed by both casual and experienced walkers alike, but is perfectly suited for families due to the relatively easy terrain and fun highlights along the route. The trail begins from the car park in Elterwater and follows Great Langdale Beck to the southeast before traversing the shoreline of Elterwater Lake on the way to Skelwith Bridge. Here, you can view the rushing waters of Skelwith Force, before continuing along the route to the west. Shortly after meeting up with the River Brathay, you will come to the sight of another waterfall, COlwith Force. After taking in the views, follow the trail west to eventually arrive at the Cathedral Cavern, a network of high-ceiling caves that can be explored. Following this subterranean excursion, make your way northeast along the valley floor to eventually arrive back at the trailhead in Elterwater where you began.
