The Beckwith Pass Trail is a pleasant hiking route in the Elk Mountains of Colorado that will lead you through charming meadows and aspen stands for beautiful views of the surrounding area. While out on the trail, you will leave behind the shores of Lost Lake Slough to traverse the rolling hills, forests, and creeks of the surrounding landscape. This is a fantastic intermediate length trail without much in the way of challenging terrain if you are simply looking to get out and explore nature.
Getting there
The starting point for the Beckwith Pass Trail can be found at the car park next to the Lost Lake Campground on FS-706.

Beckwith Pass Trail Description
Perfectly suited for casual hiking enthusiasts and families wanting to explore a longer route, the beautiful woodlands and meadows of the Beckwith Pass Trail will provide plenty of opportunities to take in the natural beauty of the Elk Mountains.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will initially head east to leave the picturesque shores of Lost Lake Slough behind, before turning your direction to the southeast across the rolling hillside. Here, you will stroll through flower strewn meadows and intermittent aspen strands, as you relax in the beauty of nature.
Eventually, the path will converge with the Cliff Creek Trail 840 and take you slightly further uphill to reach the terminus of the route at Beckwith Pass. After taking in the views, you will backtrack along the trail to return to the starting point of your hike.
