The Umborne Brook Loop is a pleasant walking route set in the picturesque Devon countryside that will allow you to relax and reconnect with nature. While out on the trail, you will meander through open fields and peaceful forests, crossing over the Umborne Brook several times as you loop through the countryside. This is a great walk that the entire family can enjoy.
Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Umborne Brook Loop from the village of Upottery, head east on Sandy’s Lane for 1.0mi and turn right onto A30. After 100ft, turn left onto Stockland Hill and follow it for 1.6mi before turning right. Continue on for 0.3mi to reach the trailhead.

Umborne Brook Trail Description
Walking the Umborne Brook Loop is a fairly secluded walking route in Devon that is popular thanks to its charming countryside setting. Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the southwest and descend the hillside, entering into the peaceful forest and crossing over Umborne Brook. From here, you will loop around to the northwest, exiting the cover of the forest before heading east to once again cross over the brook. From here, you will climb uphill to the east before turning south on the final leg across the open countryside to return to the trailhead.
