Minster Lovell and Burford Walk Description

Walking the Minster Lovell and Burford Trail is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon on the weekend, as you will be able to roam the countryside to your heart’s content, taking in the lovely views of the surrounding landscape and historic buildings of each village that you pass. Setting out from the car park at The Horse and Radish, head west along the road and eventually break away from it to the northwest, walking parallel to the River Windrush until you approach the village of Asthall. Head north and cross over the river, turning west once again on a loop through Swinbrook, Widford, Burford, and Fullbrook. Each of these villages offers something in the way of historic buildings, shops, or pubs, so take as much time as you would like exploring their historic streets. After passing through Fullbrook, make your way east along the road and turn south in between the swathes of forest to descend the hillside. After passing by the Church of Saint Oswald, turn to the east to retrace your steps back through Swinbrook on the return leg back to the starting point of the route in Minster Lovell.
