Pulpit Rock Short Loop Description

The Pulpit Rock Short Loop presents the perfect opportunity to get outside into the fresh air and reconnect with nature without having to go too far out of the way. This Open Space is conveniently located in Colorado Springs’s city center and attracts lunchtime escapees and weekend adventurers alike, so don’t be surprised if you must share the trails! Though this path does not ascend the rock, there are many off-shooting routes that climb up the granite spires if you wish. Additionally, the trails are not well marked, so use the GPS to easily navigate the terrain.

Embark on your adventure along the Pulpit Rock Short Loop from the trailhead off North Nevada Avenue. From here, track southeast along the rightmost trail. Follow this path to an intersection where you will take the leftmost path, heading east through the grasslands. It will gradually curve you south before diverting west as you wander this route. This section of the trail will hike parallel to Pulpit Rock, delivering awe-inspiring vistas of the unique granite spires.

As you meander west, you will also be granted distant panoramas of the rolling foothills. Revel in the diversity of the area’s terrain, and the path will soon track north, reconnecting you with the initial route, which you will backtrack along to the trailhead.
