Middle Columbine Trail Description
The Middle Columbine Trail is a wonderful adventure through the North Cheyenne Canyon. This epic walk will melt away any stressors and anxieties—distracting you with the breathtaking scenery along the way. The terrain is uneven when travelling through the rocky canyon, so we suggest wearing sturdy footwear to avoid a rolled ankle! Additionally, this revered trail attracts eager explorers year-round, so don’t be surprised if you have to share a trail. However, if you seek a more secluded adventure, then head out in the early morning!
Your exciting excursion along the Middle Columbine Trail begins from the Middle Columbine Trailhead. From here, head west along the Columbine Trail. This path will begin to gradually climb, guiding adventurers up a set of switchbacks. Enjoy the lush pines that line the path and the immense outcroppings that loom above. As you climb, you will also be granted awe-inspiring sights of the rolling foothills between tree breaks.
Enjoy the sweet smell of the woodlands and the sounds of the whistling wind as you near the end of the route. When you reach the trail’s end, all you have to do is retrace your footing along the path to get back to the trailhead.
