The Nethy Bridge and Loch Garten Circular Walk is a fantastic intermediate length route in Cairngorms NP for anyone that enjoys meandering through the forest. While out on the trail, you will stroll amongst the trees until you arrive at the shores of Loch Garten, where you will enjoy some nice views across the surface of the water. Walkers should take note that portions of this route do utilize roadways, so exercise caution if you are travelling with children or dogs.
Getting there
The trailhead for the Nethy Bridge and Loch Garten Circular Walk can be found next to Foresters Lodge along Dell Road, just southeast of Nethy Bridge.

For those walkers who enjoy exploring the serene landscape of the forest and visiting charming lakeside settings, the Nethy Bridge and Loch Garten Circular Walk will be the perfect adventure in Cairngorms National Park.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will head northwest toward Nethy Bridge along Dell Road, before breaking off to the southwest to enter into the dense cover of the forest. Here, you will revel in the tranquil woodland atmosphere as you meander amongst the trees, before meeting up with the edge of the road. Following this to the left will bring you to the shores of Loch Garten.
After arriving at the beautiful shores of the loch, you will pass by the RSPB Osprey Centre and enjoy some pleasant views across the water, before following a road that leads to the northeast. Here, you will continue on to the north towards Nethy Bridge, before turning off to the east along the path from the initial leg of your walk. After a brief loop, you will arrive back at the trailhead where you started your journey.
