Mores Mountain Loop Trail Description

Short and scenic, the Mores Mountain Loop Trail is a popular adventure in the Boise National Forest. While there are rocks and roots that obstruct the path, this loop is manageable for smaller children and novice hikers alike—just be sure to mind your footing. Although this path is beautiful year-round, autumn adventures exhibit the vibrant changing foliage, and the spring offers blooming wildflowers. Note the access road is subject to seasonal closure, and there is a $5USD fee to park at the trailhead.

With a charged camera in hand, your adventure along the Mores Mountain Loop Hike begins from the trailhead off Forest Road 374E. Traveling along Trail 198, you will shortly confront an intersection. Here, veer left, and you will be diverted onto the Mores Mountain Interpretive Trail. At the subsequent junction, you can take either branch, but we turned right, completing the loop counterclockwise. Along the way, you will confront several intersections, maintain the same route to the summit of Mores Mountain. Take the time to revel in the beauty of the mountainous landscape, then continue hiking.

Now wandering southeastwardly, you will be granted views of the Sawtooth Mountains in the distance as you gently descend along the interpretive trail. After some hiking, you will again confront the junction with Trail 198, turn right and retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
