Moondipper Hot Spring and Pine Burl Hot Spring Hike Description

Luxuriate in Mother Nature’s natural hot tubs along the Moondipper Hot Spring and Pine Burl Hot Spring Hike. This easy-going adventure is accessible and worth exploring no matter the season. Explore the grassy banks of the lazy-moving river, admiring the scenes bounding forested hills, and take the time to luxuriate in the warm pools alongside the river. Note that this route sees plenty of traffic, so we encourage early morning exploration to beat the crowds. Additionally, we kindly ask that you practice Leave No Trace Principles.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will be guided along the Middle Fork Payette River Trail into the vibrant river valley. Traveling northeast through the canyon, you will shortly reach the first collection of hot springs—the Moondipper Hot Springs. While it may be tempting to hope in, we suggest trekking further into the wilderness for a more secluded and peaceful soak. Beyond this point, the path will likely be more lightly trafficked as you make your way to the Pine Burl Hot Springs.

You will find these hot springs at the coverage of Dash Creek and Bryan Creek with the river. Enjoy a lovely bath in the natural pools overlooking the wilderness. When you are through basking in the warm waters, head back along the path the way you came.
