Getting there
From the Trans-Canada Highway, take the exit for Lake Louise. Park in the village overflow lot for day parking and make your way into the main square of the village. Walk towards the liquor store in the left corner and follow a path on the left. This will take you to Louise Creek Trail, and signs will guide you through the road crossings.

The Louise Creek hike leaves from the village of Lake Louise. This is the best way to access Lake Louise for those who are a bit more active and don’t have the energy for busy parking lots and traffic. This hike starts in Lake Louise Village and can be joined from other connecting trails. If you are staying at a hotel or campground in the Lake Louise area, this is an excellent way to visit Lake Louise.
Take the trail from the village and cross the road at the four-way stop. You will find the trail signs at every intersection and fork in the trail, so don’t worry. Enjoy Louise Creek as you make your way up the 843ft elevation to Lake Louise. You will come out of the forested trail at the main Lake Louise area, where you can make your way through the parking lot to the shores of the lake. Head back the way you came.
