Hiking along Healy Creek Trail is an enjoyable route wide enough for a stroller or chariot. This hike can be easily cut in half and completed as a point-to-point trail if you’re looking for a quick hike. Watch out for cyclists, as this is a multi-use trail!
Getting there
From the Town of Banff, take Banff Avenue southbound to the Bow River bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right onto Cave Avenue. Follow this road until you reach the Cave and Basin site parking lot. Park here and walk up the paved road beyond the gift shop. Continue past the Cave and Basin National Historic Site following the paved path on the right. Take the Sundance Trail until you come to a junction on your right for Healy Creek.

Healy Creek Trail Description
The Healy Creek trail is a long hike for a flat route. If you would like to cut the distance in half, leave one vehicle at the Healy Creek parking lot on the Sunshine Village Access Road. The trail begins on the Sundance Trail and forks off to the right following Healy Creek.
From the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, take the paved path on the right, skipping the entrance to the Marsh Loop and continuing to Sundance Trail. Follow this simple path until you reach a junction on your right for Healy Creek. Take this trail and enjoy the calm waters of Healy Creek for 5.0mi. Return the way you came or meet your parked vehicle at Healy Creek parking.
