Route Description for Ristafallsrundan
Start in the parking lot of “Ristafallets camping” and go straight down to the big sound of the waterfall. This waterfall is one of the biggest and is also famous because the children’s movie “Ronja Rövardotter” was filmed here in the middle of the waterfall.
On the right side of the waterfall you can actually go behind the waterfall and into a cave. Don’t do this if there is so much water that you think that you might slip down.
Then a little forest trail goes to the left side that you are going to follow behind the waterfall down the river. Small history boards line the side of the trail.
You will come to little summer houses and follow over the railway until you come to a bridge. Walking over the bridge and to the right, the trail goes behind the river and leads you to the second waterfall. Here is good place to see rainbows. The last kilometers lead you through forest and meadows and back to the parking lot.
Insider Hints
This trail goes through many different environments and you will see many types of flowers so be sure to have a flower book with you.

Wonderful walk and not very taxing at all. But the second waterfall demands a detour to the left after crossing the bridge. Makes the total distance 12K but well worth it though.

Cool trails. It seems unsafe to cross the rapids. Get hold of your children.

beautiful views of the rapids. Saw some moose near the trailhead. Talk about lucky.

It was a liberating experience. I've never been exposed to such amazing species of flora before. Some of them I only saw there for the first time.

It was beautiful but the rapids were way too strong and it's not suitable for kids. Best to stay away and always be alert.

We started 10am and it was so cool. There was hardly anyone, aside from another group of family hikers.
