Wrangler Lake Trail Description
The Wrangler Lake Trail is a fantastic, low-traffic hiking route for moderately experienced hikers. This trail does get buggy, especially in the early summer, so we recommend packing bug spray and/or wearing long layers to deter the mosquitoes. This trail does require you to cross several streams. Bring a pair of sandals for the crossings and some extra socks in case yours get wet. With low-traffic year-round, the Wrangler Lake Trail is a beautiful spot to escape the crowds of Yellowstone Canyon and enjoy the Wyoming wilderness with loved ones.
Beginning at the Wapiti Lake Trailhead, follow the Wapiti Lake Trail east. Stick to the trail on your right at the first two splits in the path then take a left to follow the Wrangler Lake Trail southeast to the shores of Wrangler Lake.
Enjoy your time exploring around Wrangler Lake. When you are ready to head home, simply retrace your steps back to the Wapiti Lake Trailhead where you began or, if you are feeling adventurous, set up your tent at the 4W1 campsite for a restful night under the stars.
