East Valley Floor Trail Description
When seeking an easy-going adventure in Yosemite, the East Valley Floor Trail is an excellent option. With the perfect ratio of impressive scenery and heart-pumping terrain, you will get a lively workout in without over-exhausting yourself. As a good portion of the path is exposed, be sure to wear layers and sun protection to avoid over-exposure. Note: the National Park charges an entrance fee; refer to the NPS website for additional information.
Embark on your lovely nature walk through Yosemite Valley from Shuttle Stop #14 on Happy Isles Loop Road. From here, the East Valley Floor Trail heads north, before diverting west onto the Bike Path Trail. Immediately, you will be granted epic views of Yosemite Falls. Hike northwest along this path to Village Drive and turn right here before merging onto the Valley Loop Trail. This path will wander along the sheer cliffside and guide you onto a service road, before reaching the Cairns Field at Mirror Lake.
Revel in the view of the narrow-walled corridor in the west, then retrace your footing back and over the Tenaya Lake Bridge. At the end of the service road, reconnect with the Valley Loop Trail and follow it south, before curving west to make your way back to the trailhead.
