Immerse yourself in a quintessential Yosemite National Park experience along the Mirror Lake, Snow Creek, and Upper Yosemite Falls Loop. This epic excursion is taxing, but the views along the way prove to be well worth the sweat. Put your stamina to the test as you climb over the rock walls that bound Yosemite Valley. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear, and pack plenty of water and snacks to keep you fueled. This exciting adventure can be completed as a challenging day-hike or an overnight expedition—either way you’re in for a treat! As there are many route intersections, the trail GPS may prove useful. Note: the National Park charges an entrance fee, so be sure to check out the NPS website for the pricing guide.
Embark on your journey along the Mirror Lake, Snow Creek, and Upper Yosemite Falls Loop from the trailhead off Happy Isles Loop Road. From here, track east along the Valley Loop Trail, Past Mirror Lake, and along Tenaya Creek until you reach an intersection with the Snow Creek Trail. Here, track north along the Snow Creek Trail and make your way up a set of switchbacks. At the next junction, veer left and wander an unnamed path around the base of Indian Rock. At the next intersection, you will keep right and walk along Lehamite Creek. Keep right at the next fork in the road and you will be guided to the top of Yosemite Falls, which reveals breathtaking views of the valley and the legendary granite domes.
Revel in the sight of the falls and begin trekking down the Upper Yosemite Falls Trail. At the path’s end, track the Yosemite Valley Loop Trail east, all the way back to the trailhead.
