Colorado Trail Segment 10 Description

Travel through a forested corridor within the Sawatch Mountain Range, enjoying the looming snow-capped peaks as you venture the Colorado Trail Segment 10. The beauty of a one-way adventure is the diversity of the scenery, as you will be rewarded with new views every step of the way. Shared with plenty of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, you will be in the company of bikers, hikers, snowshoers, and even cross-country skiers in the winter months. Note: this trail travels deep into the woodlands, so you will likely encounter some wildlife—make sure to keep an eye out!

Embark on your adventure along the Colorado Trail Segment 10 from the Colorado Trail Segment 9 Trailhead. From here, turn left and hike along the Colorado Trail Segment 9 through the woodlands to Hagerman Road. Here, the path will merge into the Colorado Trail Segment 10, passing Sugarloaf Mountain. You will soon enter the Mount Massive Wilderness. Hike along the path which intersects with several streams, woodlands, and meadowlands that reveal sights of the snow-dusted peaks.

Enjoy the lush scenery and revel in the grandeur of the looming Sawatch Mountain Ranges as you travel along the trail. You will eventually meet the trail’s end at the Elbert Creek Campground, marking the end of your adventure.
