You’ll hike through the woods for most of the way, but the viewpoint that will open up before you once you reach the rim will make every step through the trees worth it.
This route is great for families, beginners, and everyone else. It’s easy to follow and has lots of shade. Add it to your itinerary for the North Rim and thank us later!
From the trailhead, it’s an easy hike the whole way through. There are no junctions to consider. Trek through the trees, which can hide snow into the spring and early in the fall. When you emerge from the trees, take in the marvelous panoramic view. Snap photos, stare in awe, and then retrace your steps once you’re ready.
