Huber Wash Trail Description
The Huber Wash Trail is a great little adventure down one of the major drainages in Southeast Zion. This hike gets insanely hot in the summer, so it is best to save this one for the cooler months. This trail is rocky and not maintained, so wear good footwear and be prepared for a bit of an adventurous hike. For those who are prepared, this is a beautiful hike past sections of petrified wood embedded in the walls of the wash, and a little hanging garden, and waterfall at the end of the wash that runs seasonally.
From the parking area, follow the dirt road north to a large NPS boundary gate. Go through the gate (and close it securely behind you) to enter Huber Wash. Follow the wash as it meanders north/northeast along the boldery basin. The wash continues for approximately 2.0mi until it reaches a logjam of rock, sand, and petrified wood.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can clamber up this impasse to join the Chinle Trail above. Otherwise, this is a good spot to turn around and head back to the parking lot.
