Red Rock Spring Trail Description

The Red Rock Spring Trail takes you up the side of a mesa to look out at the desert landscape surrounding you. It’s a good return for relatively little effort, with awesome views that don’t require too much work to reach. This is a good pick for active families and beginners.

Some users report seeing bear scat on the trail, so consider hiking in groups and bringing bear spray. The trail can also be rocky, so sturdy boots or shoes are a good choice. Otherwise, this is a straightforward hike with no major considerations. You may want a GPS route if you haven’t hiked the trail before.

From the trailhead, the route climbs up the mesa wall. There are no junctions on the way up to deal with, so navigating should be straightforward. It’s a bit loose in places, so take your time. The route ends where it meets a horizontal trail at a T-junction. From here, turn back and retrace your steps.
