Baby Bell, Llama, and Bail Loop Description
The Baby Bell, Llama, and Bail Loop explores the area just north of Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock. It’s a stunning spot, and this moderate hike is the perfect way to take in Bell Rock from a bit of a different vantage point. You can also do an optional scramble up Baby Bell, which is fun for more confident hikers.
Download a GPS track ahead of time if you’re unfamiliar with this area. There are lots of interconnecting trails and it can be easy to miss a turn.
From the trailhead, take the Phone Trail Extension towards Baby Bell. If you want to scramble up, approach from the north side and use the gully to climb up. If you’re not keen on scrambling, continue on Bell Rock Pathway, keeping right at the next two junctions. Admire Gibraltar Rock before curving east and then south, checking out Courthouse Butte before passing back behind Baby Bell. From here, take the Phone Trail Extension back to the trailhead.
