If you have been searching for a quick and easy walking adventure in the northeastern part of Brecon Beacons National Park that offers a pleasant mixture of scenic countryside and charming city streets, then the Hay-on-Wye River and Rail Circular Walk is a great option to explore this part of Wales.

Setting out from the car park, you will make your way west through Hay-on-Wye, taking some time to appreciate and explore the streets of this quaint town, before crossing over Login Brook to arrive at the church of St Mary. After working your way around the church, you will continue on to the west in order to traverse The Warren meadow.

Here, you will be able to take in some views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife, eventually arriving at the banks of the River Wye. Turning to the east, you will follow along the water’s edge to pass under Hay Bridge, before looping around to the southwest. This final leg of the walk will see you make your way back through the lovely town of Hay-on-Wye on the return journey to the car park.
