It’s also an easy outing if you’re staying at the Newhalem Creek Campground next door.

Skagit River Loop Trail Description
The Skagit River Loop Trail is a lovely easy hike suitable for most adventurers. This walk features a vibrant forest and the Skagit River. Dogs are allowed on this trail as long as they’re on a leash.
Begin by passing the visitor center and taking a short boardwalk through the forest to a wide overlook with benches. After about 0.2mi, the route transitions to natural footing. Enjoy the river, name all the species of tree you can, and then complete your loop by returning to the visitor center. To extend your walk, you can join Loops A or B at the campground with this trail.
