Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Tamar Lakes Walk from Kilkhampton, head east on East Road/B3254 for 0.5mi and turn left to continue on for another 2.2mi. Make a left here and follow the road for 0.3mi, before turning left again. In 0.1mi, you will arrive at the car park.

If your aim is to get outside to enjoy nature while taking a relaxing stroll by the water’s edge, then the Tamar Lakes Walk is the perfect trail to spend your free time. Setting out from the car park, you will head to the north and walk along the western shore of the Lower Tamar Lake, passing through a beautiful stretch of forest on the approach to the much larger Upper Tamar Lake. Here, you will make a loop around its scenic shores, taking in the beautiful sights across the calm water before heading back to the car park where you began your walk.
