The Branscombe to Beer Coastal Trail is a fun adventure for casual and seasoned walkers alike that will lead you along the undulating terrain of the coast for some lovely seaside views. While out on the trail, you will make your way to Branscombe Beach, before making the steep uphill climb over the cliffs surrounding Beer Head. A bit of effort will be required in order to traverse the rugged coastal terrain; however, the stunning views of the English Channel will be well worth the effort.
Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Branscombe to Beer Coastal Trail from Sidford, herald east on Church Street/A3052 for 4.5mi and make a slight right onto Locksey’s Lane, following it for 92ft. Turn right here to continue on the same road for another 1.6mi before making another right. After 125ft, you will find the car park on the left.

Walking the Branscombe to Beer Coastal Trail is a popular activity along the South Devon Coast for anyone that is interested in stunning views of the English Channel and challenging themselves along some moderately steep terrain. The trail sets out from Branscombe and heads to the southeast to bring you to the picturesque Branscombe Beach. From there, you will turn to the east and climb up the steep hillside, making your way along the rugged cliffs until you reach the wonderfully scenic lookout at Beer Head. Continue on to the north to reach the village of Beer, at which point, you will turn back and relive the beautiful scenery along the route as you work your way back to the trailhead.
