Dartington Estate Circular Walk Description
Unless you are travelling the Dartington Estate Circular Walk in the winter or spring when the trail can be wet and muddy, there are no real downsides to this fantastic adventure. Serene stretches of woodland, beautiful grassy fields, historical architecture, and a variety of wildlife species all adorn this exceptional route. Pathways here are well-maintained and rather enticing, meaning that you will likely get pulled off the main route to explore some beautiful corner of the estate, which is okay thanks to the fact that they are also easy to navigate. This is a perfect route to explore the picturesque and historic countryside of Devon County.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will initially head to the southeast before turning to the northeast to cut across the serene expanse of North Wood. From here, you will meander along the banks of the River Dart as it bends toward the south to eventually arrive at the beautiful architecture of Dartington Hall. Pass through the grounds and admire the well-manicured gardens, as you follow the road back to the west for a final jaunt across the forested countryside to return to the trailhead.
