The Cam Crag Ridge Circular Walk is a rough and rugged excursion in the Lake District that provides some beautiful views of the interior parts of the region. The trail begins in the valley floor and follows along the waters of Stonethwaite Beck before climbing up the steep hillside to the summit of Glaramara. The challenging terrain and level of fitness needed for this walk makes it a great option for seasoned walkers.
Getting there
To get to the trailhead for the Cam Crag Ridge Circular Walk from Keswick, drive to the southeast on Borrowdale Road for 6.1mi and turn left to continue on for 0.1mi. Make another left and you will find roadside parking in 0.1mi.

Cam Crag Ridge Circular Walk Description
Walking the Cam Crag Ridge Circular is a challenging undertaking that will see you climb up some rough and rugged terrain for beautiful Lake District views, making it popular amongst seasoned walkers. The trail begins between the villages of Borrowdale and Stonethwaite, heading to the southeast along the valley floor along the waters of Stonethwaite Beck. After passing by Galleny Force, follow the trail to the southwest along Langstrathbeck, before climbing up the steep hillside toward Doveness Top. From here, the route will gradually climb further uphill to the summit of Glaramara, where you will have a great sightline over the rugged interior of the Lake District. After taking in the views, follow the trail north to descend the ridge and make your way along the valley floor to return to the trailhead.
