Memorial Lakes Hike

Difficulty Rating:
The trail to Memorial Lakes begins in the central Kananaskis Village area, following the Ribbon Creek trail before branching off on its own. The route can be tricky at times due to flood damage and maintenance; however, it is worth it. The three lakes are spread out, making the last segment of the trail much more exciting than the lead up to the lakes.
Getting there
Take the exit to Highway 40 from the Trans Canada Highway and follow this for 13.7mi before turning right into Kananaskis Village on Mount Allan Drive. Turn left onto Centennial, and right onto Ribbon Creek Drive. Park at the day-use area.

Memorial Lakes Hike Description
The Memorial Lakes Hike starts from the Ribbon Creek day-use area. From here, follow the Ribbon Creek trail or the Kovach Trail for the first 2.5mi. Follow cairns leading to the right at the second Ribbon Creek junction, 2.5mi into your hike. The trail wraps around Ribbon Peak following Ribbon Creek as it climbs up to the first Memorial Lake.
