Steelhead Falls hike

Start the Steelhead Falls hike right from the parking lot, past the wooden gate and onto the gravel pathway. Right away, you’ll notice the trail splits, follow the signs right for The Reservoir Trail After about 40 yards, you’ll come to another junction. Head left, following the well maintained trail towards Steelhead Falls.

Pass underneath power lines and arrive at a small bridge leading over Brown Creek. Continue straight from here, heading slightly uphill until you reach a large creek.

This is Steelhead Creek and the waterfall is just below this flowing water, but there is a bit more hiking to do to reach it.

Cross over another bridge, then wrap around Steelhead Creek, continuing on the Hayward Reservoir Trail now. Once you reach the next split, follow the signs for Steelhead Falls, following a smaller, dirt path back towards the creek.

From here, the path descends quickly and you will come to a flight of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, there is a viewing platform of the upper falls.

Stop here to kick back and relax, maybe snapping a few photos of the family on the viewing platform. When ready, head further down the second flight of stairs to reach the next viewing platform directly in front of the falls.

Enjoy the view of Steelhead Falls and retrace your steps back to the parking lot when ready.
