Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is one of America’s most famous national parks. The name alone conjures up images of abundant game, stunning natural wonders and evocative landscapes. In person, it’s all that and more, and the best way to explore Yellowstone is to get out of your car and walk or ride this wonderful landscape.
Yellowstone was the world’s first national park, and it’s easy to see why it was protected so many years ago – there is no greater concentration of natural wonders on earth. Whether it is the stunning hot springs, beautiful canyons, clean rivers or amazing geysers, a trip around Yellowstone will surprise and awe visitors.
Yellowstone is big and seeing everything takes a few days – but it’s definitely worth it! At the top of the list is the stunning Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, which must be seen to be believed. Head north to the amazing Mammoth Hot Springs, where you get an incredible view even if you don’t leave your car. Head south to Old Faithful, which is wonderful to watch erupt. Nearby is the famous Old Faithful Inn, one of the world’s great buildings.
Summer gives visitors the opportunity to hike, bike, backpack, boat, fish and horseback ride. If you have time, try all of them. We love the hiking and share our 10 favourite hikes in Yellowstone below.
Winter sees many of the roads closed, which means miles of great trails for skiers and snowshoers, though some of the park is closed in winter. You can also access more terrain via snowmobile or the wonderful snow coach tours equipped to travel the challenging winter roads.
Come to Yellowstone for your next family vacation and leave amazed!
