Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park is one of the most diverse national parks in the US. Taking in the Pacific Coastline, the rugged mountains and temperate rainforest in-between, this national park has everything you need to keep amused for your entire holiday.
Olympic National Park is quite simply outstanding. Where else can you have a great hike in the morning, some sea kayaking in the afternoon and a delicious seafood dinner and star-gazing at night? It’s no wonder Olympic National Park is the 7th most visited park in the US.
In summer, we love hiking and backpacking in Olympic National Park. The diversity of walks along the coastline or hikes up in the alpine is unique, and appealing for diverse groups of hikers. The Royal Basin and Obstruction Point hikes are true highlights, though a stroll along one of the many tidepools can easily make a great morning.
If you’re game, consider a backpacking trip. Olympic National Park has some of the best backpacking trails, and almost 50,000 visitors a year will backpack and camp in the Olympic wilderness. Trust us, the views will blow you away!
In winter, there is still lots to do in Olympic National Park. To begin with, the coastal areas remain accessible and walks along the beach are still rewarding. Another favourite is curling up cozy in a cabin, watching winter storms roll in. If you want to get your skis or snowshoes out, consider a trip up Hurricane Ridge, the centre of snow sports in Olympics National Park.
