Enjoy a quick adventure through Vis Island sure to leave lasting memories
Of all of Croatia’s islands, Vis may be the most intriguing. Set deeper into the Adriatic Sea than its neighbours, Vis was kept off-limits to the general public until the Yugoslav army abandoned it in 1989. This has kept its stunning natural charms intact, with plenty of space to explore away from the summer crowds.
Arrive in Split, where you’ll receive an introductory briefing on the route and collect your information kit. Then hop on a ferry for the journey to Vis island! Once you’re there, get started right away on a hike that takes you west to Komiža. This historic town offers plenty of charm and a beautiful sheltered location within a broad bay. Your next day offers a circular route that explores the coasts, with glorious views at every turn. There’s an option to visit the Blue Cave on Biševo Island – a particularly magical sight! The third day brings you back to Vis town, past the slopes of Mount Hum and down to the sands of Stiniva Beach, one of Croatia’s best. Wrap up the tour by taking the ferry back to Split, where new adventures await.
For a quick hiking journey in the Mediterranean, the Vis Island Walking Tour is tough to beat!
