Vall de Boí and Aigüestortes Walking Tour
Day 1 Arrive
Your walking tour begins in the small, picturesque village of Barruera. If your arrival time permits, enjoy an afternoon cocktail at one of the few lively bars here or grab some last-minute essentials for the tour in the town’s shops.
Tonight, you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at the authentic local restaurant, Farré d’Avall, where you’ll enjoy mouth-watering traditional Catalan dishes and local specialties.
With a pleasantly full belly, get a good night’s rest at your comfortable hotel in preparation for your first day of walking tomorrow.

Day 2 Explore 3 UNESCO World Heritage Site Romanesque Churches
The day starts with a climb from the valley to the higher mountain village of Durro. Here you can decide to do an extra loop high over the flanks of the valley. On your way, the chapel of Sant Quirc de Durro, situated on a beautiful viewpoint, where the annual bonfire is lit during the Fallas festivities. Then you continue via Durro across the panoramic Camí del Pago to the village of Boí, where you can visit the Romanesque church of Sant Joan plus the National park Visitors’ center. After a short final ascent, you reach the village of Taüll, where the most beautiful of all Romanesque churches can be seen: the Sant Climent with its impressive bell tower.

Day 3 Loop from Täul via Casesnoves
From Taüll you do a there-and-back walk across the high ridge above the village, the so-called Pala de Taüll. Your first stop en route is the top of the peak Tossalet de Creuetes (1921 m) from where you have a splendid view over the valley of Boí. If you to walk want more, follow the path further alongside the ridge and through an alpine pine forest with wonderful flowers and many birds. The end point is the former pasture area Casesnoves where you have a beautiful view across the heart of the National Park: the Aigüestortes valley with lakes Estany Llebreta and Estany Llong. Then you walk back to Taüll via the same path.

Day 4 Aigüestortes Valley and Glacier Lakes
Today's adventure begins with a taxi transfer to the entrance of Aigüestortes National Park. Remarkable scenery greets you almost immediately upon entering the park as the river Aigues Tortes snakes its way through the alpine valley.
Your route begins with a steep ascent through pine woods, eventually leading you alongside a mesmerizing series of glacier lakes called Dellui, the perfect place for an afternoon picnic. Posting up on the water's edge, you'll be immersed in a natural oasis as the blue-green waters of the glacial lakes sparkling in the background. The lakes also offer the opportunity to spot the cheeky marmots that inhabit the area, who are sure to bring you a laugh or two over lunch.
Traverse a scree slope to start your descent, followed by a further descent through black pine woods. A quick stop at the Estany Llong refuge will allow you to refuel with a drink before returning to the start of the walk, where a taxi transfer will take you to your hotel in Caldes de Boí.

Day 5 Mountain Hut Experience at Ventosa i Calvell
The day begins with a taxi transfer to the Cavallers Dam, where you’ll set out on a scenic walk into the remote mountainous area to spend the night in a traditional Spanish mountain hut.
Following the Cavallers reservoir, you’ll notice the landscape shifting, becoming increasingly rugged, rocky and raw, a welcome sight for those eager to get off the beaten track.
The trail leads to Ventosa i Calvell hut, where you’ll spend a magical night surrounded by towering peaks at a soaring altitude of 2215 metres (7267 feet)—a truly remote and remarkable mountain experience.

Day 6 Aigüestortes Mountain Oasis
This morning, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the impressive landscapes of the Aigüestortes Mountains. Traversing jagged granite landscape, you’ll pass several dazzling glacier lakes as you make your way to the Port de Rius mountain pass at 2475 metres (8120 feet). The trail continues alongside the Estany de Monges and finally to the Port de Colomèrs, leading you to an incredible vista point over the beautiful glacial valley of Cirque de Colomers.
A final descent following the same path as yesterday will lead you down to the reservoir of Cavallers and to your hotel at the base of the valley.

Day 7 Erill la Vall Circular route
Enjoy a gorgeous walk to visit more of the Catalan Romanesque churches of the Vall de Boí. A beautiful riverside path will take you from Caldes de Boi to Barruera.
At the halfway point, you’ll reach Erill la Vall, a perfect place to stop for a refreshment, before visiting the Romanesque church Santa Eulalia, also found here.
