Summit Mount Olympus Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Litochoro
Are you ready to start the journey to the top of Mount Olympus? Arrive in Litochoro to settle into your guesthouse. This tiny mountain town sits at the base of the great Mount Olympus, where you’ll likely meet many more hikers seeking the summit. Get prepared for your climb tomorrow: pack, eat a hearty meal, and head to bed early.

Day 2 Summit Mount Olympus
Waste no time! You’re off this morning to ascend the tremendous, majestic peak. A taxi will take you to the trailhead at Prionia, and then you’re off. Following part of the E4, a long-distance path running through parts of Europe, you’ll climb, climb, climb in the Enipeas Gorge, then reach a descent to the river.
Appreciate the one-of-a-kind atmosphere as you cross over wooden bridges in the lush forested area. After the gorge, you’ll catch your first sight of the summits. The trail now brings you closer and closer to your destination, reaching several viewpoints with spectacular views. The highest point you’ll reach today is the Skolio summit at 2,911m!
Later, head to the mountain hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 3 Hike the Plain of the Muses and Return to Litochoco
Wake up surrounded by the mythical peaks of Mount Olympus and prepare for your descent. You’ll pass by a couple of other mountain refuges as you hike along the plateau.
Continue eastward along the plain, admiring the never-ending views shrouded by a mysterious mist. Enjoy the downhill trail to Gortsia, where you’ll call a taxi to return to Litochoro. Treat yourself to a drink in a local tavern and celebrate your accomplishment of the last two days.

Distance: 6.5 hours, 16.5km, 650m of ascent, 1600m of descent

Day 4 Departure
After breakfast, you’ll check out of the guesthouse, and your tour comes to an end. Continue on your way, knowing that you just climbed the highest peak in Greece!
