Day 1 Arrive

Your tour begins in the beautiful pueblo blanco of Ronda, a mountaintop village perched above a plunging gorge. The historic town is home to a spectacular stone bridge that splices the city, constructed in 1793.

Day 2 Cruise the Andalusian Countryside to Olvera

The excitement commences right away with an exhilarating ascent this morning by way of Arriate to Setenil de las Bodegas, which sits atop rugged cliffs and boasts superb views of the Guadalporcun River.

The route then guides you through Torre Alhaquime to the lovely village of Olvera, set among beautiful sprawling farmland and robust olive orchards.

Day 3 Cycle to the Clifftop Village of Zahara de la Sierra

Pedalling tarmac roads through pastoral farmland, you’ll reach the town of Algodonales.

Continuing the route, you’ll reach the serene clifftop village of Zahara de la Sierra, another of the pueblo blancos, which overlooks a beautiful valley and is known as one of the most picturesque towns in all of Andalusia.

Day 4 Cycle and Ancient Roman Rod to the Moorish town of Benaocaz

Today’s ride wastes no time and begins with a tough ascent to reach Grazalema, where you’ll then continue along sections of an ancient Roman road to Benaocaz.

In Benaocaz, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the historical town center, with its fascinating Moorish roots and impressive church.

Day 5 Cycle Villages, Mountains, and a Cork Oak Reserve

A descent into the town of Ubrique (the largest white town) kicks off your day with a thrill before you embark on a climb, crossing the largest cork oak reserve in Spain.

The next section of the route has you circling the central massif of the Grazalema Mountains—needless to say, the views during this section will take your breath away.

Arriving in the scenic green valley of the Guadario River, you’ll cruise a pleasant flat section as you make your way to the train station in Jimera de Líbar, where you’ll catch a short train to Benaojan.

Alternatively, you can cycle an additional 9.5 kilometres to your accommodations in Benaojan and skip the train ride.

There is also the option of exploring the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park on foot today for those interested in swapping wheels out for hiking shoes.

Day 6 Cycle the Encinas Borrachas Pass to Ronda

Today, you’ll make your way back to Ronda, where your journey will come full circle.

Cycling the Encinas Borrachas pass (1000 metres/3280 feet), you’ll follow the road from Gaucín to Ronda, enjoying a quiet scenic route. The final section is a breezy descent into Ronda, where you’ll celebrate the completion of your epic cycling adventure in Southern Spain as you cross the spectacular Puente Nuevo bridge.
