Short MTB Adventure in the Atlas Mountains Itinerary
Day 1 Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil and Ride to Imi Oughlad
Your adventure starts in the vibrant Moroccan city of Marrakech. From here, you’ll transfer an hour and
half to the small village of Imlil, nestled high up in the Atlas Mountains.
Your expert local guide is your key to unlocking the region’s fantastic riding potential. The
ride starts with a climb to get the legs going. After a pause for mint tea at the top, it’s onto
some great singletrack, passing through local villages. A pleasant riverbed makes for a great lunch spot before the dusty Moroccan single track continues. A last short climb gets you to the final descent of the day heading into the village of Imi Oughelad where you will find your gite for the night.

Day 2 Biking Imi Oughlad to Ouirgane
Awakening to the fresh mountain air of the High Atlas this morning, take a moment to admire your magnificent surroundings. After breakfast, it’s time to hop back in the saddle for another day of adventuring on the bike. Day 2 of your ride begins with a steady zigzagging ascent up a dirt road. You’ll get fantastic views of the Maizane Valley from here, where vivid green fields contrast against rocky slopes leading to snow-capped summits. At the Tachet pass, there is a pause for a well-earned drink.
From there, the singletrack drops through the atmospheric Azzaden valley and passes through several small villages dotted with characteristic stone houses. Your journey ends at the scenic town of Ouirgane today where you’ll find your guesthouse.

Day 3 Biking Ouirgane to Amizmiz
Waking up for the last morning in the peace of the Atlas Mountains, take a moment to appreciate the fresh mountain air. Your last day’s riding passes through olive groves over the Tizi Ouzla pass into the Amizmiz valley and on to the Amizmiz Dam.
The ride covers some of the best flowing singletrack in the region as you cruise through villages and fields. From the Dam, a transfer will take you back to Marrakech.

A: I love our local food, well the first dish fritada with tortillas that is fried pork with potato patties then empanadas.

A: Hands down, this is Tagine! Guests may have tried Tagine elsewhere around the world,
but one must try Tagine in its birthplace for the true experience! To top this off, a traditional Min Tea is the perfect follow-up.

A: My ideal holiday destination is the beach. I really like Essaouira and Agadir.
