Spend 7 days kayaking along the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia
This seven-day kayaking adventure showcases the best paddling and island camping along Nova Scotia’s stunning South Shore. Explore three distinct areas offering exceptional island-hopping and camping opportunities—paddle past vast white sand beaches and historic settlements in the LaHave Archipelago, navigate the narrow channels and striking geology of Blue Rocks and Stonehurst, and discover the sheltered drumlin islands protected by the Mahone Islands Conservation Association (MICA) for their ecological significance and beauty.
Throughout this multi-day journey, encounter diverse bird species such as osprey, eagles, guillemots, cormorants, herons, razor bills, leach's storm petrels, and terns. Keep an eye out for seals, porpoises, sunfish, and other marine life while paddling along intricate coastlines shaped by privateers, rum-runners, and Nova Scotia’s rich shipbuilding history. For adventurous paddlers, breathtaking open ocean crossings are a highlight when conditions allow. Some prior paddling experience is recommended.
