Day 1 Arrive in Porto
You will arrive on your own to the city of Porto, one of the most important in the North of Portugal. We recommend taking a walk through its Ribeira and trying the exquisite sweet wine that this charming city offers you, in one of the many terraces that you will find on the banks of the Douro. Enjoy the beautiful views from its viewpoints. Be sure to listen to a fado and visit a Porto Winery.

Day 2 Reach the Rural Town of Arcos
You will transfer from the hotel in Porto to the small town of Vilar do Pinheiro this morning where you will begin your Portuguese Way from Porto to Tui. Walk through an easy terrain, sheltered by the shade of eucalyptus and pine forests until you reach the rural town of Arcos.

Day 3 Hike to Barcelos
Advance through leafy valleys dotted with small towns and agricultural and rural areas before reaching Barcelos. You will enter this town through its well-preserved medieval bridge that will take you to its main square. Barcelos treasures history and legends. A clear example is the legend of its rooster of the Portuguese Way and symbol of Portugal. Its historic center is worth a visit.

Day 4 Continue Trekking to Balugães
From Barcelos you will travel through small villages with their orchards and find various baroque chapels on your way. This stage crosses beautiful lands that grow vinho verde, highly appreciated in Portugal. Finally, you will arrive at Balugães, a small and quiet town on the Portuguese Way.

Day 5 Hike to Ponte da Lima
Today you will get closer to the valley of the Lima River and it will grant you beautiful views. The landscape changes as you walk the Portuguese Way. At the end of the stage, the town of Ponte de Lima, the oldest in Portugal, will await you. The narrow streets that start from the river hide very interesting corners, with a perfectly preserved historical area.

Day 6 Descend to Pecene
You will leave Ponte de Lima behind, following the Portuguese Way from Porto, along its historic bridge, then experience a climb to Portela Grande and enter Rubiães along its Roman road. From this point descend through fertile valleys to the pretty village of Pecene.

Day 7 Arrival in Tui
This stage is characterized by mountainous terrain that takes you to the fortress of Valença, witness of the numerous clashes between the kingdom of Portugal and the kingdom of Galicia. After crossing the International Bridge over the Miño River, you will reach Tui, with its impressive Santa María de Tui Cathedral, at the top of the hill that we recommend visiting.
