Peru Classic Inca Roadtrip Tour Itinerary

Day 1 The Adventure Begins in Lima

Today your adventure kicks off in Lima where you’ll be picked up from the airport by a member of the local team and transferred to your starting point hotel. Set out to explore the capital of Peru, and prepare for the adventure to begin tomorrow!

Day 2 Briefing and First Drive to Paracas

Meet at 9 am this morning at the rental center where you’ll be briefed by the local team and get to know your RV and supplies. It’s then time to set out mid-morning for your first destination, the Paracas National Reserve. Wind the windows down and feel the southern coastal breeze as you cruise for around 3 hours to reach the reserve. Once here, set up camp and enjoy a delicious dinner beneath the starts, as you prepare to wind down for your first night on the road.

Day 3 Drive to Nazca

One of the true highlights of this adventure awaits you as you set out for Nazca today following breakfast at camp! Drive to the Paracas jetty to take an early boat ride to the Ballestas Islands to watch cormorants, sea lions, Humboldt penguins, Peruvian Boobies, Inca Terns and more coastal marine species.

Refuel with lunch in Chaco then head south along the Pan American Highway through the sprawling desert, with an optional stop for dune buggying, sandboarding, or a winery where Pisco is produced!

Arrive in Nazca in the late afternoon and camp in the gardens of Casa Hacienda Hotel.

Day 4 Continue Your Roadtrip South

You can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel this morning before setting off south. It’s highly recommended that before departure, you book an early flight out over the Naza lines to observe this mystery in all of its glory.

Start your drive to wards Puerto Inca where in the time of the Inca ́s the people were engaged in the extraction of seafood, to dry it, and transport to Cusco. Hit up Jihuay beach before calling it a day and checking into your campsite at Puerto Inca Beach.

Day 5 Long Drive to Arequipa

Today you’ll set out on the long, but oh so scenic drive to Arequipa! It’s recommended to set out no later than 9:30 am to allow you time to drive the 411 km to your next destination, with ample time for stops along the way.

You’ll have the option to upgrade to hotel in Arequipa should you want a break from camping this evening!

Day 6 Experience Arequipa

Today you’ll take a break from the road to explore and discover the wonders and hidden gems of Peru’s “White City” – Arequipa!

Sign up for a guided city tour, visit the Santuarios Andinos Museum, or eat your way through the streets of this charming colonial town home to incredible restaurants boasting local specialties.

Day 7 Onwards to Colca Canyon

Depart this morning for Colca Canyon! On the way you’ll revel in the views of the Chachani, Misti and Picchu Picchu volcanoes.

It’s advised to get as close as you can today to the ‘Cruz del Condor’ – the main attraction! Perhaps try hiking to the Condor’s Cross on arrival and with a bit of luck, you’ll spot the iconic Condor in action.

Day 8 Colca Canyon Awaits

Colca Canyon is the main attraction today, and its yours to discover however you’d like! Perhaps set out on a hike to Condor’s Cross if you didn’t complete this trek yesterday. Head back to camp to enjoy breakfast, then set out to meet the local communities as you peruse the towns on the way to Coporaque with optional stops in Chivay, Yanque, Maca, Coporaque, Achoma and Lari. For those looking for an adrenaline-pumping adventure today, you can book a rafting tour on the Colca River!

Day 9 Drive to Lake Titicaca

Today you’ll cruise the open road on the altiplano (high plateau) with your sights set on mighty Lake Titicaca at almost 4,000 mosl, and the worlds highest navigable body of water.

Enjoy a stop in Lampa along the way for lunch then set out to explore this little ‘pink town’ on foot before continuing the drive to Lake Titicaca.

Day 10 Full Day to Explore Lake Titicaca

Enjoy a day at your leisure exploring the remarkable Lake Titicaca! Wake up on Llachon beach, then set out to commune with the friendly locals that call Lake Titicaca home, such as the Uros who inhabit the floating islands found here.

Today you can enjoy an array of optional activities such as kayaking, a full day tour of Uros, a full day tour of Taquile and Amantani, or just a fun beach day at your own pace!

Day 11 Ride to Cusco

Return to the wheel today for the lengthy but beautiful final drive to Cusco! A number of ‘must-sees’ await you today, such as Pucara Town where the typical Pucara bulls come from , the archaeological complex of Racqhi or Viracocha Temple built by the Incas , and Andahuaylillas town!

Tonight you’ll park in Cusco city surroundings where you’ll camp for the evening.

Day 12 Head for the Sacred Valley

Pack up for a brilliant adventure today as you prepare to tour from Cusco to Sacred Valley. You can opt to hire a professional guide for today, or try your hand at navigating this ancient landscape on your own, paying your entrance directly at the sites.

Visit the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Tipon, Huacarpay, and Pisac!

Day 13 Machu Picchu

Today you’ll experience the site that Peru is most well-known for around the world, as you explore the wonders of Machu Picchu! You’ll be picked up from your campsite and driven to the train station today in Ollantaytambo from where you will depart by train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Your guide will be waiting for you for a full day excursion to Machu Picchu while leaving your RV in the Sacred Valley.

You’ll return to the campsite to retrieve your belongings at the end of an incredibly magical day, then you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco where you’ll spend your final night of the tour. The local team will retrieve your RV from the campsite and return it to Lima.
