The Langtang Trek gives you the chance to see many of the region’s majestic giants, including Annapurna and Manaslu, with only 6 days of trekking. You’ll stay in Sherpa villages and have opportunities to interact with local people. There is even a cheese factory along this route that you can visit.
As you trek through the Langtang valley, you’ll have the chance to climb to the Langtang glacier as well as the beautiful summit of Kyanjing Ri. Notice the varied landscape as you climb in altitude. Langtang Trek Itinerary
Day 1 Transfer to Syabrubensi
After being picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu, begin the long drive to Syabrubensi. Along the way, you’ll see many scenic villages as you travel an exciting road. Each time you crest a ridge, you’ll find a new incredible view of the Himalayas. Your guide will point out Annapurna, Ganesh, Manaslu, and many other famous peaks in this Langtang region. Spend the night in Syabrubensi (1,450 m/4,757’).

Day 2 Trek to Lama Hotel
Begin your trek today with a trail that climbs gradually as it follows the Langtang Khola stream. This trek will astonish you with the beautiful landscape and breathtaking scenery at every turn along the way from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel. Spend the night in Lama Hotel (2,480 m/8,136’).

Day 3 Trek to Langtang
Start your day with a good breakfast, then follow a steeply climbing trail that continues to follow the Langtang Khola stream through a lush, green forest. The valley gradually widens and you’ll see temporary settlements that cattle herders use when they bring their cattle here to graze in the summer. Eventually, the trail begins to descend again toward a monastery, then you’ll reach the Langtang National Park headquarters. Spend in the night in Langtang (3,541 m/11,617’).

Day 4 Trek to Kyanjing Gompa
Continue your gradual ascent today as you pass through yak pastures and small villages such as Mumdu and Sidum. The lovely trail will cross glacial moraines and several small streams before leading you to the Kyanjing settlement. You will have time here to explore the village and surrounding area, which is well-known for making cheese and curd. Spend the night in Kyanjing Gompa (3,900 m/12,795’).

Day 5 Dayhike to Kyanjing Ri
Take a day trip today to Kyanjing Ri. Get an early start and enjoy the fantastic overlooks of the Langtang region’s famous peaks, which are available all along the trail today. Stop at the summit of Kyanjing Ri (4,773 m/15,659’) to enjoy the panoramic views, then follow the same trail to return to Kyanjing Gompa. You’ll have the opportunity to visit a government-run cheese factory and a small monastery along your trek. Spend a second night in Kyanjing Gompa.

Distance / Time: 10 km, 6-7 hours, 1,100 m of ascent, 1,100 m of descent

Day 6 Trek to Ghoda Tabela
Retrace your steps today as you follow the Langtang Khola stream back to Langtang village, then continue along the trail to reach Ghoda Tabela. Most of the day will be spent trekking downhill as you descend from Kyanjing to Ghoda Tabela, but the mountain views continue to be spectacular. Spend the night in Ghoda Tabela (2,972 m/9,751’).

Distance / Time: 20 km, 8-9 hours, 1,000 m of descent

Day 7 Trek to Syabrubensi
Leave Ghoda Tabela after breakfast and trek for 5 hours or more as you descend to Syabrubensi. Notice the lush green vegetation that surrounds you as you trek downhill for most of the day. It is another day full of inspiring views as you return to the beautiful village of Syabrubensi.

Distance / Time: 15 km, 6-7 hours, 1,300 m of descent

Day 8 Transfer to Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu today with a long but scenic drive through beautiful landscapes. You will see many traditional villages and gain a broader perspective of Nepal as you leave the mountains and drive through the countryside to the capital city.

This guided trekking tour in Nepal is run either as a private tour for your group only, however, sometimes there are options to join other groups (please enquire for more information).

Accommodation on the Langtang Trekking Tour
This tour is based in trekking lodges, also called tea houses, along the trek. These accommodations are simple since there is no road access to reach them, but they are also friendly and full of atmosphere.
Most lodges have dining areas that are heated, but the bedrooms are typically unheated. Wooden beds with foam mattresses are provided, but you will need a sleeping bag. Washing and toilet facilities are shared, and some have solar showers available for an additional charge.
In some cases, the accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other, comparable accommodations.

Private rooms are not available in the trekking lodges.
