Get settled into your accommodations before setting out to explore this seaside capital of La Gomera, where pastel-coloured buildings line streets dotted with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

You’ll undoubtedly have learnt about San Sebastián’s main claim to fame fairly quickly upon arrival, as it is well documented throughout the town that Christopher Columbus stayed in San Sebastián while on his way to the New World!

Navigating the rainforest landscape, you’ll walk among the dense laurel woods and their weaving trunks. Continuing a path up towards the sky, you’ll reach a spectacular viewpoint with breathtaking views of the surrounding islands and Spain’s highest mountain, El Tiede.

Terraced plots and picturesque palm groves line the path as you enter the Barranco de Valle Gran Rey, known as the prettiest valley on the whole island.

Having worked up a healthy appetite, you'll enjoy a lunch of local specialties in a traditional restaurant in the idyllic mountain village of Las Hayas. With a satisfied palate, you'll then make a final descent among junipers, heather, and palm trees into the Valley of Los Loros, where you'll find tonight's accommodations.

Today you’ll witness the varied landscape of the island as you exit the valley of Los Loros and make your way onto drier terrain.

The path will take you on a gradual ascent leading to the hilltop chapel of Santa Clara, perched on a ridge. The chapel itself is beautiful, with whitewashed walls that contrast beautifully with the surrounding blue of the sea that crashes 700 m below. Take in panoramic views of the surrounding mountaintops before taking the steep path down to a tiny cove nestled on the coast. Continue the path back to the village of Vallehermoso.

Enjoy an evening exploring this beautiful town, perhaps checking out the Roque Cano, Vallehermoso’s natural monument that rises from the hillside, or strolling the black sandy shores of Playa de Vallehermoso.
