Greek Mountains Adventure Itinerary
Day 1 Afternoon at Lake Plastira
This morning you’ll head to Lake Plastira. Enjoy a picnic lunch and an afternoon at this lovely mountain lake. You can take out a hydro-bike, a canoe, or a kayak, or even do some archery. Then it’s on to Meteora! You’ll go on a short tour of the best viewpoints to admire and photograph the incredible rock formations of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 2 Hike the Ancient Paths of Meteora and Zagori
This morning you’ll get to explore the incredible stone formations of Meteora. You’ll follow the secret paths to the clifftop monasteries and view this amazing area from above. After a tour of one of the monasteries, you’ll head off to your next adventure in Zagori. When you arrive you’ll take a hike from the village of Monodendri to visit the Agia Paraskevi church and some spectacular viewpoints over the Vikos Gorge.
The day ends with a delicious homemade dinner at your local guesthouse in Vitsa.

Day 3 Discover the Vradeto Steps and the Arch Bridges of Zagori
Start your day with a transfer to the village of Kapesova where you’ll start a hike to the ancient stone pathway of the Vradeto Steps. Follow the trail to the Beloi viewpoint to take in the amazing views of the Vikos Gorge.
In the afternoon you’ll take a hike to explore the stunning arch bridges that date back to the 16th century.

Day 4 Rafting and Riding Adventures
You have an exciting day full of adventures ahead of you! In the morning you’ll go rafting in the National Park of Vikos. This is an easy rafting expedition through the beautiful landscape of the park. Return to Papigo for your next excursion, which will be a horseback ride on the scenic paths around the town.
After today’s activities, you’ll want to relax in the evening at one of the local restaurants.

Day 5 Via Ferrata in Aoos river/canyon
Get ready for a unique, unforgettable experience today, since you will explore the spectacular Aoos river in an absolutely different and fun way! Just north of Papigo and Mt Tymfi, lies the scenic canyon of Aoos, run by Aoos river and surrounded by majestic mountains, such as Smolikas and Tymfi mountains.
Our activity will start from Konitsa old bridge, which will captivate your eyes! A 45min hike parallel to the river will take us to the beginning of the via ferrata. Two bridges will cross our path, a small one in Gravos of 6-7m length, and a longer one, Aoo’s thibetan, 17m long and 35m high! Several impressive climbs follow, on steel ladders and a vertical rock, 60-70m above water. About half-way we will find some hiking trails, boasting beautiful scenic landscapes and we will end up back at the historic bridge of Konitsa.

Day 6 Rogovos natural pools – return to Athens
Today you will unfortunately have to say goodbye to this wonderful, pristine part of Greece! But before you do so, we will take you to a nearby well-kept gem. Just 10min walk from Papigo village lies a gorgeous small canyon, Rogovos. The stream running down the canyon forms some beautiful natural pools around the unique rock formations. In summertime, you may even dare to dive in the freezing waters!
We will then depart for our trip back to Athens (approx. 5.5 hrs drive), which you will reach early in the evening (around 18:00pm). We will drop you off at your hotel and you will have the evening free to enjoy the city the way you wish.

Day 7 Athens & Acropolis Guided tour - Departures
This morning, after breakfast at your hotel, you will enjoy a guided walking tour of Athens city and the archaeological site of Acropolis, a UNESCO Worldwide Heritage Site and the landmark of Athens. You will meet your tour guide in the morning at a designated meeting point and join a superb historical tour. Walk by the Greek Parliament, Syntagma Square, the National gardens, Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch, ending at the Acropolis site. Entering on the south slope of the Acropolis, you’ll visit the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you walk up the slope leading to the Acropolis monuments. Panoramic views of the city and insight information in Athens’ ancient history will complete your wonderful active holiday in Greece!
