Day 1 Arrive at Ballina

Arrive to the county town of Ballina. Meet your guide & settle in to your accommodation for the next 3 nights. Meet your other group members and enjoy a delicious evening meal together and a drink in the local pub as your guide briefs you on the coming weeks adventure.

Day 2 Knocknarae

Knocknarea is visually striking as it has steep limestone cliffs and stands on the Cúil Irra peninsula overlooking the Atlantic coast. At the summit is one of Ireland's largest cairns, known as Queen Maeve's Cairn, which is believed to contain a Neolithic passage tomb. This is a perfect introduction to hiking in Ireland and the rich history that our land contains.

Day 3 Carrowteigue Cliff Top Hike

Explore "The finest sustained coastal walk in western Ireland" according to Lonely Planet as you take in amazing views around every corner on today's hike. On your way to the trailhead we will stop at the Ceide Fields Visitors Centre to see the oldest, most extensive Stone Age monument in the world.

Day 4 Achill Island Hike

Starting your hike today at one of Achill’s largest lakes, you follow across open hillsides and moorland to explore the north western extremities of this island. This is a total immersion into nature at its best, as you hike to the impressive “Deserted Village” filled with history from bygone days. Your hike will leave you wanting to see more of this amazing island. Transferring to Westport for your next 3 nights.

Day 5 Croagh Patrick Hike

This is your “Pilgrim” Day as you hike the impressive & well known Croagh Patrick. Famous since the 5th Century, this is an amazing day of hiking. Reaching the top is not the goal, the objective is enjoying your journey along the way. This is Ireland’s most historical pilgrim mountain and still captures the emotions in a most surprising way.

Day 6 Clare Island Hike

From Westport, you drive further west to take a ferry across to Clare Island, one of the many islands found in Clew Bay. With stories of Grace O’Malley our Pirate Queen to absorb you into the history of this place, you explore the north eastern corner boasting lighthouses, mountains and cliffs.
