Day 1 Arrival
Arrive in Le Puy, the capital of the Haute-Loire, where your pilgrimage commences. Le Puy is situated in the southeast of the Central Massif and affords visitors spellbinding views of the surrounding volcanic landscapes.

Day 2 Cycle from the Notre Dame Cathedral to Saugues
Your pilgrimage starts at the Notre Dame Cathedral of Le Puy where you’ll set out on bike towards Saugues in the morning. The first leg begins in the Monts du Velay, where you’ll alongside fields of green lentils before riding downhill towards the scenic Haut-Allier gorges.
Then, cycling the Plateau de la Margeride, you’ll dive into a final climb of the day to Saugues.

Day 3 Chapels and Hamlets to Aumont-Aubrac
Depart Saugues this morning and return to the beautiful Margeride plateau, which will take you into the Truyère Valley. Admire St. Roch Chapel and the delightful miniature hamlets of Le Rouget, St Alban sur Limagnole, and Les Estrets on the way.
Finally, arrive in Aumont-Aubrac, found at the heart of lovely Lozère!

Day 4 Cycle Villages to Estaing
Hop on your bike and set out through gorgeous forests of pine this morning as you approach the Aubrac Plateau. You’ll find yourself cruising at a lofty altitude of about 1000 meters, affording you mesmerizing views of the surrounding pastures.
Ride through the villages of Aubrac and Nasbinals, then settle into the saddle for a pleasant downhill stretch to Saint Côme d’Olt, one of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most Beautiful Villages of France). Press on into the spellbinding Lot Valley, continuing the route to today’s destination, Estaing.

Day 5 Cruise to Conques
Say farewell to Estaing as you depart the Lot Valley this morning, embarking on a steep ascent to Campuac. Continue through the lovely village of Espyrac, home to spectacular well-preserved castle ruins dating to the Middle Ages.
Continue to Sénergues, also home to an enchanting castle, before sailing downhill to Conques.

Day 6 River Dourdou de Conques and the Célé Valley
A pleasant stretch unfolds this morning as you pedal alongside the River Dourdou de Conques, which eventually meets the Lot River. Follow the Lot to Livinhac-le-Haut where you’ll reach the Célé Valley.
Riding through the picturesque green valley, you’ll soon arrive at Figeac, which is perched on the Célé River. Known for its deep roots in art and history, there are several historical sites of importance to explore in Figeac.

Day 7 Quercy Villages to Bouziès
Return to the Célé Valley today, where the majestic scenery never gets old! Cycle riverside, encountering several small Quercy villages like Espagnac and charming Marcilhac, with its ancient Benedictine abbey ruins.
Arrive in Conduché, then cross the bridge to today’s destination, Bouziès.

Day 8 Final Ride to Cahors
This morning you’ll join other eager pilgrims on the trail as you trace the Lot to Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, another Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. Pause here if you’d like to take in the idyllic village perched on a rock.
Exit the valley with a steep climb, complete with spectacular views of the countryside, and press on to Aujols. Finally, you’ll ride towards Flaujac-Poujols, then continue on a final descent to the medieval town of Cahors, where this section of the Le Puy Camino concludes.
