This challenging guided cycling tour is not for the faint of heart! During the 8-day Cascade Volcanoes Cycling Tour, you’ll tackle four of the major mountains in the Cascade Range. This volcanic mountain range stretches over 1000 kilometres down the Pacific coast of the United States and is the perfect place to put your endurance to the test.

You’ll be exploring Mount Rainier, Mount Hood, Mount Bachelor, and Mount Mazama as you ride between Washington and Oregon. Along the way, you’ll experience lung burning climbs, exhilarating descents, and spectacular views. Each night you’ll be able to share tales of your adventures with your fellow riders over delicious dinners. This will be a trip that you’ll never forget as you take on the challenging volcanoes of the Cascades!

Day 1 Transfer to Yakima and Welcome Dinner

The shuttle will meet you at the Seattle airport and bring you to Yakima. You’ll have to time prepare your bike before your welcome dinner with the group.

Day 2 Conquer Mount Rainier

Today you’ll start big by tackling the tallest of the volcanoes, Mount Rainier. Bike along the river and climb Chinook Pass. As you crest the pass you’ll be officially entering the Mount Rainier National Park and will catch your first incredible glimpse of Rainier. Your legs are probably burning by now, but the trip to tonight’s lodge should be easier!

Enjoy dinner with the group in this tranquil place.

Day 3 Cycle Mount Rainier and Down to Morton

Your ride begins with a short climb up to Cayuse Pass, but then you’ll enjoy the thrilling ride down into the Ohanapecosh Valley. You’ll pass through Cascades Peaks on your way to the town of Morton. Take a breather here and enjoy some lunch.

From here you’ll be collected by the van and transferred to Hood River. This town on the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge is a popular spot for restaurants and outdoor adventurers.

Day 4 Bike from Hood River to Challenge Mount Hood

You’ll be pushing your limits today on your ride up Mount Hood. The spectacular views as you climb out of the gorge will hopefully inspire you with some extra energy for the big climb and challenging route up to the historic Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. Push hard, but don’t forget to enjoy the mountain scenery unfolding as you gain altitude.

Rest your legs at the lodge over dinner with the group tonight.

Day 5 Ride to Madras

Today’s ride will be a much-needed break after yesterday’s exertions. The route is mostly paved and downhill, except for a few small uphill sections as you ride down to the Deschutes River Valley and into Madras. Enjoy the cruisy day and the endless green forest flanking you.

Day 6 Cycle around Mount Bachelor to Crescent

The shuttle will take you to Mount Bachelor for today’s ride. You’ll be exploring three sides of the mountain, taking on moderate climbs.

You’ll take the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway before arriving at the southern side of Crater Lake National Park, where you’ll ride your final mountain ascent. Woohoo!

Day 7 Ride around Crater Lake

You’ll have another rewarding climb on your ride today as you work your way up to Crater Lake, a deep blue alpine lake nestled into the mountain. The end result will be well worth the work!

When you finally arrive, you’ll be taking the road that circles the lake for views of the sparkling water from nearly every angle of the caldera.

Day 8 Final Ride along the Rogue River

Your bike ride today will take you out of the national park as you make your descent along the Rogue River.

After your ride through this beautiful, forested area, the shuttle will collect you and bring you to the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport or drop you off at a local hotel. Well done!
