High Tatras
The High Tatra Mountains are part of the Carpathian Mountains chain and are in the northern part of Slovakia bordering Poland. This part of the Tatra Mountain range is home to the highest peaks in Slovakia and the highest peak is Gerlachovský štít (8711ft). This peak can only be reached with a guided expedition, but there are lots of other beautiful peaks that are easily accessible and have amazing views.
There are three popular skiing resorts and Slovak people are proud of their modern infrastructure for winter sports. Hiking trails are amazingly well marked and maintained, and we should definitely give credit to Slovakia for adapting to increasing tourism in the Tatra Mountains this well.
Amazing valleys, plenty of waterfalls, dramatic peaks and alpine atmosphere - what else can you do on your adventure trip to the Slovak Mountains. Mountain chalets are very modern and beautiful. We think this region in Central Europe is very underrated but it comes with a great advantage - prices are still relatively low and you can get a pint of cold beer in a restaurant for as low as 1.4 Euro, but we can guarantee that it won't last forever since the number of hikers has been on the increase for a long time!
