Since being established in 1908, Mount Hood National Forest has grown to cover an area of approximately 1,067,043 acres, nearly a third of which has been estimated to be made up of old growth forest as recently as 1993. While the vast swathes of forest that blanket the landscape make for a beautiful sight, the numerous volcanoes that dot the landscape are the real showstopper - none more so than its namesake peak, Mount Hood.
