Two Pine Arch Trail Description
The Two Pine Arch Trail offers fantastic views for hikers who are willing to pick their own path over the slickrock slopes. This trail is not for families with young children, but should be easy enough for experienced hikers. This route is a less-traveled trail, and is a great option for folks looking to get incredible views without navigating the crowds of the main canyon. Make sure you wear shoes with good traction as this is a rugged route over sandy slickrock.
From the parking area, take a look up the canyon to the north towards Progeny Peak. A very large ponderosa pine tree should be visible: this is your figurative north star. Following the pine, pick your way up the canyon, sticking to the slickrock on the left side of the wash. The arch is just behind that large pine tree you spied from the car. From the arch, the trail continues a short way up the right-hand side of the wash to a fantastic viewpoint overlooking Pine Creek Canyon, the Tunnel and East Temple.
Take your time at the overlook and enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert landscape. When you are ready to return home, simply follow the same path back to the car.
