The Pine Creek Narrows Trail is a great little hike exploring beautiful slot canyons just off of route 9. This hike is a lot of fun for kids to play on and explore. The Pine Creek Narrows trail is a great little adventure away from the crowds of Zion’s main canyon.

Park at the pull-out just east of the Zion-Mount Carmel tunnel on Route 9 near Springdale, UT.

Pine Creek Narrows Trail Description
The Pine Creek Narrows is a little-seen trail just off of route 9 in Zion National Park. The path of this trail is sandy and a bit bouldery, so wear shoes with good grip, and if you have mobility issues, bring along the hiking poles. This trail is a lot of fun for kids of all ages to explore a natural playground.
From the pullout parking area, head down into the wash on the south side of the road. Follow the washbed east as it winds through a series of beautiful slot canyons. Follow the trail for approximately 0.6mi until you reach the Lower Clear Creek Trailhead. This marks the end of the Pine Creek Narrows hike.
If you’re not done exploring for the day, the Lower Clear Creek Trail (also known as the Hobbit Hole Trail) is a great little adventure as well. If you are all done for the day, just spin around and follow the Pine Creek Narrows Trail back to the car.
