Yellowstone Natural Bridge Trail Description
The Yellowstone Natural Bridge is a unique natural wonder in Yellowstone National Park. The trail up to the bridge is very easy and entirely doable for young kids or inexperienced hikers. This trail becomes moderately challenging with the steep and loose switchbacks up to the top of the bridge itself. If you plan on hiking up to the top of the bridge, leave the flip-flops and home and wear a good pair of hiking shoes.
Spanning 30ft and standing at 51ft tall, the Yellowstone Natural Bridge is something to behold. This formation of rhyolite rock was created by natural water erosion. Due to conservation and preservation efforts, you are not permitted to walk or climb on the natural bridge. Please be respectful on your visit and appreciate the bridge from a distance.
To hike to the Yellowstone Natural Bridge, begin at the Natural Bridge Trailhead and follow the path west along Bridge Creek for approximately 1 mile to the natural bridge itself. To get a different view of the bridge, climb up the steep switchbacks to the top. Up here, there are some great picnic spots with lovely views of the surrounding landscape.
When you are ready to head home, simply retrace your footsteps back to the Natural Bridge Trailhead where you began.
