Wolf Lake Trail Description
The Wolf Lake Trail is a gorgeous route in Yellowstone National Park. This trail can get wet and swampy, especially after a rainstorm. We recommend wearing waterproof hiking boots and bringing along a spare pair of socks in case you get your feet wet. With undulating terrain and beautiful meadows along the way, the Wolf Lake Trail is a great place to spend the day exploring the wonder and beauty of Yellowstone National Park.
Beginning at the Wolf Lake Cutoff Trailhead, follow the path northeast along the Gibbon River. After about three-quarters of a mile, cross over the river and continue northeast to a divide. Take the trail on your right and continue along the path to a second river crossing. Shortly after this second river crossing, you will arrive at Wolf Lake.
Enjoy your time relaxing on the shores of Wolf Lake. Then, when you are ready to head home, simply turn around and retrace your steps back to the Wolf Lake Cutoff Trailhead, where you began.
